Emma Rawicz was presenting material from Chroma, her recent major jazz label album, but at this two-set East Side gig, she rearranged her compositions for a fast-thinking interactive quartet.

East Side seems to get it right: at this marvellous venue - which supplies a Yamaha upright, house drums and PA - they are building a wide-ranging audience by booking real jazz bands. And they pay real fees, by the way, with extra if you do really well. Long may it continue!
