Trish Clowes and her band MY IRIS latest album ‘A View with a Room’ has been voted number 10 by Jazzwise in their Critics Poll albums of the 2022. .
‘A View with A Room’ is the fourth release by saxophonist and composer Trish Clowes and her acclaimed band My Iris, an intense and thrilling quartet that represents the front rank of the contemporary UK jazz scene. Lauded for her imaginative approach to improvisation and composition, Clowes provides her bandmates Ross Stanley (piano/Hammond organ), Chris Montague (guitar) and Joel Barford (drums) with a unique platform for individual expression, delivering driving grooves and lingering melodic lines, seamlessly morphing between earthy restlessness and futuristic dreamscapes.
My Iris has toured internationally and made broadcasts for BBC Radio 3 and Radio Bremen. Notable
recent performances include Rochester International Jazz Festival (Made In The UK showcase), Toronto International Jazz Festival, Galway Jazz Festival and the Barbican for the London Jazz Festival, supporting Avishai Cohen. This year the band headlined the Purcell Room at the London Jazz Festival
